New figures in the shop

The last few days I was finally able to put all the new sets in the shop. First I thought I would have the time to paint all the Ottoman units before making the photos but this was not the case.

So the only set I painted from the three new ones were my favorites - the Delhis.
I still have to add the reigns. The lances I made from pins with lanceheads I got from the WGRS through Ebay UK.  And I have to add the guns on the other figures.

Another special set I put in the shop today are HATs Spartans. This set will sadly never produced in plastic as there were problems with the mold. I got the special permission from HAT to use the testshot I had to cast them in metal.

The Napoleonic Turkish army is sculpted

Yesterday I got the parcel from Ingo with all the missing masters to complete my Ottman army of the Napoleonic period.

Also Andy sent the first three sets of casted cavalry figures. My problem is I don't have photos from all the masters or castings. So I started painting the cavalry to put them in the shop.

All in all over 60 different figures of the Ottomans for the period 1780 to 1826 are done.
The units will be:

Regular infantry
Nizam regulars 2 versions
Albanian light infantry
Anatolian infantry (Spahis)

Delhi Cavalry
Spahis Cavalry
Haleb Delhis Cavalry
Kapikhulu Spahis Cavalry

The battle of Helipolis one possibility now that we also work on the French in Egypt.
Or I use them as an enemy to fight HAT's 1805 Russians in the Russo-Turkish war of 1806-12:-)

Here several photos of the masters as I got them from Ingo.

Rank and file (they got some beltsin the meantime)

Albanian light infantry

Here Ingo used western muskets. We got such a Turkish model and will try to make the change.

And finally the guys I call the "Cannonfodder"

And finally the Anatolian Spahis

Emperor Vespasian

This is a very special figure Stephan Berry asked for.  Vespasian one of my "favorite" Emperors of Rome, hero of a lot of novels and the one who said "Money doesn't stink"

Maybe you recognize the painting by Peter Conolly?

I already put the figure in the shop

More Russians in Potemkin uniform

Leonid sent over photos of his latest masters. These are a great addition to the infantry and command we already have in the shop.

The Potemkin uniform, worn by the Russian army from 1786 to 1796 was of a very modern cut and I always found it fascinating.

So guess how happy I was when I got these photos!

So my Russian army for this period will grow very soon. In these uniforms they fought three wars against the Swedish, Poles and Turks. The war against the Turks together with the Austrians who already had the same uniform as in the French revolution.

And talking about the Turks. The complete sets of my project of a Napoleonic Turkish army are done and are on the way to Andy to put them in the forms. The first set cavalry sets are already casted and hopefully I can put some photos here soon. This could be a very colorful diorama....
